Today

August 2nd:

This morning I went to breakfast with my dad at The Original Pancake House in Los Altos. It's our favorite breakfast place and we always get the same thing (we split the diced ham and scrambled eggs with a side of pancakes and I get a hot chocolate), but today we got something different. I got a ham and cheese omelet and wheat toast and a hot chocolate and my dad got eggs and bacon and pancakes. My omelet ended up being a little too rich for me, but it tasted pretty good nonetheless.

After breakfast I went to the library and ran a couple errands. I set up my credit card and made an Amazon Student Prime account (students get 50% off the prime membership cost!).

At 2:30 I left my house and picked up my friend K and we drove up to Mount Hermon together to pick up my pillow which I had left there after camp last week. It was my first time ever driving highway 17, so that was an experience, albeit not one as exciting as I had expected. We went to Pondy, retrieved my pillow, traded in a messed up camp DVD, and then headed down to the Mount Hermon Conference Center.

It's tradition with my friends K, R, and L to walk down to Conference while at camp, but since they made the rules more strict this year we couldn't do it. For closure, I really wanted to go, so we went! I got ice cream at the Fountain and K got dippin' dots. We also ran into my counselor from 2011, which was super fun! She's such a wonderful woman of God. She was so sweet how her whole face lit up when she saw us <3 K and I also went to the bookshop where I bought a lanyard and a couple little wooden "coins" which are kinda just charms.

We were gonna also visit the Redwood grove, but when we realized we'd have to pay for parking, neither of us were motivated enough to go, so we turned around and got Jamba Juice instead. We also visited this little shop called Zinnia's in Scotts Valley, but didn't end up getting anything. Fun to look at stuff though, even if we don't buy!

I ended the day by dropping off K, then going home to tuck myself in with a book :3
