Memories

August 23rd:

How do you best like to remember important moments and events of your life? Photographs? Cards from people? Journaling? Memorabilia? My favorite way to remember my favorite moments is by scrapbooking, which takes pretty much all of those things and more and squashes them together to create the ultimate memory display. You probably already know that I scrapbook (I think I mentioned it in a blog a while back), but perhaps you didn't know that I have scrapbooked every major event of my life since the summer before 9th grade? Or that I do everything in perfect chronology? Or, hey, that I only have JSB (prom) and Graduation to scrapbook before I am finished with my endeavor to scrapbook my entire high school life?! I'll decide after I'm done with those two whether or not I want to scrapbook this summer, but I'm leaning towards not because I don't really have to time/desire to. I've filled... seven(?) scrapbooks and have one more to purchase before my collection is complete. :3

But here's the thing with my scrapbooks - some pages/spreads/journal-y bits are pretty personal, so they're not the sort of things I'd like to show just anybody. My mom mentioned some neighbors maybe wanting to see them and immediately I was like, "ummm, eehhhhh...." I sorta treat them as really big, pretty journals, but with mostly pictures instead of words.

Do your parents have scrapbooks of you when you were little? Are they mostly generic photo albums with minimal words, or are they really personalized? Have you ever scrapbooked? I find it to be stress-relieving, which I've really needed the past few days!

Maybe someday (if I know and love you enough) I'll show you my scrapbooks~

Keep it classy!
