Rain

August 5th:

Despite enjoying the warm weather that accompanies summertime, I get tired of it pretty quickly. I like wearing sun dresses or shorts, swimming, and going to the beach, but after about two months of lovely warm California weather I begin craving the cold. Given the choice I would much rather have it cold and rainy than have clear skies and heat. I love bundling up (even though I complain about being cold a lot); I love scarves and warm hats; I love curling up with a blanket and a book and listening to the rain fall on the roof - my house is particularly good for this because we have a foam roof that makes a cooking-bacon sort of sound when it rains.

Just today I was wishing for cold weather because I have a new pair of jeans that I adore and I wanna wear them without feeling like my colors are too dark/warm. I want to wear jackets and fuzzy socks. I want winter. Luckily up in Seattle I will have lots of "bad" weather, so I have that to look forward to!

I've always thought there was something really romantic about rain. Maybe it has to do with rainy weather promoting snuggles (which I also love), but I think it's more the movie-scene feel of walking down the street in a downpour. Umbrellas, dancing, kissing in the rain - they're all romantic rain things!
