Taking Yourself TOO Seriously

July 29th:

First and foremost, I wanna say that I don't mean to encourage you to go crazy and be a fool, but I do want to tell those of my followers who take themselves too seriously to take a chill pill and enjoy life.

A few ways I take my own advice:

1. I write a daily blog, and never edit. I literally NEVER go back and edit things. I don't change wording. I just leave the sentences and words as they are when they spew from my mind. Fingers. Whatever. I think if I began editing, then I would spend hours and hours tying to make each blog post perfect, which would be a waste of time AND would leave me unhappy with my end result. So I leave it as it is.

2. Along with a few friends, I record myself singing random songs and upload them to a youtube channel. I don't have a microphone other than the one built in to my computer, so that's a sign that I don't need to be perfect. We make complete fools of ourselves during filming/singing, which is always a hoot to review. I feel like if you take yourself TOO seriously when making art it will come out all stiff with no life.

3. I don't put my identity in one thing. Grades, popularity, clothes, boys, talent even - none have the power to make or break my happiness in who I am. I'm not saying that I don't take pride in things, my accomplishments, ect, but I don't let them rule my life. I think people who live for Earthly things are all gonna be disappointed in the end.

So... I guess what I'm trying to say is: don't be so uptight about everything. Take a minute to relax and have a little fun! And keep it classy!
