Classics

July 16th:

So, in general, I would not say that I like "the classics". Many novels that are considered "the classics" I cannot stand (To Kill a Mockingbird, 1984, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, ect.). Old "classic" movies I generally cannot stand (It's a Wonderful Life, Singin' in the Rain, Fantasia, ect.).

However, I find myself saying "It's a classic!" about different things, and I wonder if MY version of "the classics" is just different than everyone else's... Like, some of my classics are Footloose, Pride and Prejudice, and some newer things like LOTR and The Matrix. For me, those are the classics. Maybe I'm just weird. Or maybe it isn't required for everyone to like the classics. Perhaps that's it. Huh. I feel like not liking "the classics" is like, looked down upon in modern society. Is that a vibe you get? Hmm. Gets one thinking.

On another, random note: I just watched seven episodes of New Girl and cannot stop laughing. It's a good in-between... between How I Met Your Mother and Awkward (neither of which I have watched, but both I have heard a lot about). I didn't know it was on Netflix until tonight, so... thank you, Netflix for finally making it available to me? Or... for allowing me to find it? Whatever. Yay Netflix.

Perhaps you can tell I'm very tired. Goodnight. Keep it classy.
