September 12th:
I LOVE ice skating. Unfortunately, I really really dislike indoor ice skating rinks, so my only window of opportunity for the pass-time is the winter when the outdoor rinks are open. When I was little I took lessons at Winter Lodge in Palo Alto, but never got much further than learning how to not fall down. I still can't slow down without running into something (usually the wall, but I have been known to grab on to friends if a wall is not nearby). Winter Lodge is still my favorite place to go (it's actually the only place I like to ice skate), but sadly it hasn't opened up this year yet. Actually, I may miss it entirely because of college - wait, no, Christmas break. SWEET. I'll have to put that on my to-do list for when I come home.
There's just something about ice skating that is so romantic to me. I don't just mean cutesy-coupley romantic, but just... charming. It's a classic winter pass-time!
Maybe I'll be able to find a place for it in Seattle... Anyone know of any? I wonder if all the rain causes all the rinks to be indoors... That would suck.
Not much else to say today, so there you have it: I like ice skating. Thanks for listening!
Keep it classy~
