September 5th:
Today I mentioned that I was bringing some of our DVDs to college and my mom asked which I planned on taking. I took it upon myself to go into our garage and collect the eight movies I would be making off with. They are: Howl's Moving Castle, 17 Again, Pride and Prejudice (the new one), X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Star Trek (the new one), She's the Man, Hairspray, and the first season of Sherlock. I also just purchased Moulin Rouge from Amazon and will be bringing that too. What do you think of my choices? We have a bunch of movies, probably 100+, but those are my favorites - my go-to's and comfort movies.
I adore movies. I love going to the theatre and seeing them on the big screen and then buying those I like most so that I can watch them over and over. For some reason, I dislike buying digital copies of movies. I feel like I have less ownership of my copy when it's just on a computer. But that doesn't apply to music for some reason. Huh.
Tonight I watched An Education. Knowing that it was a cautionary tale and didn't have a decidedly happy ending BEFORE watching it made me enjoy it much more. I hate when you don't know it, but the movie you're watching has a terrible ending. Those just put me in a bad mood (like Blue Jasmine). I loved all of the actors in the movie, so that also helped.
Oh, yeah, today I decorated a Goodwill coffee mug with sharpie and then baked it to make the sharpie stay. Here's the final product (front and back):
The phrases are from Owl City's song Plant Life, which I REALLY adore. Adam Young is amazing in so many ways.
So yeah, that was today for me.
What are your favorite movies? If you had to choose only 9 movies to take with you on a very very long trip, which would you bring? :)
Keep it classy!!!
